JJ Safety Consulting was formed by Jennifer Johnson, to bring safety awareness and education to schools, utilizing her law enforcement background, skills, and training.  Jennifer graduated with a degree in criminal justice and joined the police force out of college.  She worked as an officer for both the Sacramento and Carlsbad Police Department before making a transition into the corporate world. She worked in the law enforcement industry for over 20 years while managing her own small business, HEAT Self Defense, teaching tactical self defense to women, students, and organizations. She currently works for a large school district in San Diego County as a District Safety Coordinator. Jennifer has continued to enhance her knowledge by taking specific safety training classes.  These include Behavioral Threat Assessment, Options Based Response to Active Shooter Events, Preventing Targeted Violence and Mass Attacks, Bomb Threats and Swatting Incident Response, Fentanyl/Opioid Crisis, and Terrorism Liaison Officer training. Jennifer is extremely passionate about school safety.  It is her mission to help keep schools safe so staff and students can continue to thrive.
